Political party conferences frequently take place in the UK and abroad. These conferences are attended by world leaders and agents from different political groups around the world. These conferences must be secure enough to keep these people safe and protected. If you’re in charge of a political party conference, then read on for some tips on how to secure the site and reassure politicians and others no harm will come to them.

Fencing

Good fencing can mean the difference between a safe, smooth-running conference and one where there is a risk of an imminent threat. Make sure fencing is set up well in advance and solidly secured. Zaun fencing can offer advice on what type of fencing is best for your political party conference and provide fencing for many other events as well.

Get security to recheck fencing on the day to ensure no gaps that a person could slip through or any week points that an angry crowd could knockdown. It would help if you secured any gaps immediately, so contact a professional company like Zaun to address these issues ahead of the day.

Well-trained security

Security is necessary to protect VIPs. For this type of event, well-trained security forces should start planning with you long before the event, as plans will need to be put in place if there is a disturbance or an attack. This is not something you can do the week before. You may also need to consult with the police as they may need to be involved with high profile guests.

Head to our website to find out more about Zaun’s secure fencing. We supply fencing for many different purposes, including sports fencing, school fencing, industrial site fencing and swimming pool fencing. In addition, you can use our fencing for many different events like the Rugby World cup, Olympic Games and NATO summits.

Sporting events have some of the most complicated security requirements in the world. With people often travelling across continents to watch their favourite teams or sports stars, footfall at sports events can be huge. With thousands of people in one place, effective security measures are essential, so read on to learn more about the three most important elements of any sporting event’s security procedures.

Attendance tracking

If you don’t already, using tickets is a good way to start regulating the number of people at a sports event. Unfortunately, we all know the devasting impact of having too many people in a stadium, so you want to avoid overcrowding as much as possible.

By using effective ticketing software, you can impose hard limits on the number of people who can buy tickets to your event. This way, the number of attendees can’t spiral, and you can ensure a safe and fun event for all involved.

Security guards

The next step to keeping your operation safe is the use of security staff. Security guards can ensure that all of your strict rules are being followed, from ensuring that bags are the right size to checking that everyone has a ticket before entering.

Security guards are the first step in active security, meaning any threats can be dealt with as soon as possible. From a simple local tennis court to the football World Cup, every sporting event needs to use security staff to keep spectators and players safe.

Security fencing

Finally, to make all of your other measures as effective as possible, you’ll need a custom-designed perimeter fence. After all, how good is a ticketed event’s security when wrongdoers can walk in anyway? Security fencing can guide all spectators and fans to where they need to be, simplifying the security process and letting everyone focus on the match at hand.

If you’re interested in sports fencing designed especially for your venue, get in touch with the team at Zaun today. We’re proud to offer bespoke fencing for a range of sporting venues, helping you to focus on organising the match rather than having to worry about your security. So give us a call today to find out what we can do for you.

Not every company has time to dig in and install security fencing onsite. However, when your firm needs protective measures in place quickly and easily that don’t compromise security, Rapid Deploy System fencing, or RDS fencing for short, is a practical solution.

In the next sections, we’ll look at some of the real-world benefits businesses can gain when they opt to fit this simple but secure fencing on their premises.

A single solution to many problems

RDS fencing provides the perfect temporary security option for a wide range of situations. If your firm wants to keep particular areas protected from unauthorised access or is looking to make potentially dangerous places off-limits while work is conducted, RDS is ideal. It is also exceptional for controlling crowds and can function as a robust and dependable barrier at public events.

Economic issues

Enterprises operating within a strict security budget will find that PAS 68-rated RDS fencing can be advantageous. Due to its outstanding levels of protection, RDS can cut down the costs incurred from additional security personnel and patrols that are commonly associated with temporary fencing.

Deploy and redeploy as necessary

Firms will find that RDS solutions offer excellent flexibility. They have been designed to allow security teams to react swiftly and move their defences to key areas where stronger measures are urgently required with little effort and disruption.

Customisable and dependable

High-quality RDS fencing can be counted on in extreme circumstances. Independently tested to rigid standards, they are capable of holding their own against crowd swarming. They can also be installed with access portals designed for both people and cars when necessary.

RDS is also easy to integrate with additional security measures such as CCTV, perimeter intrusion detection systems and an extensive range of fence toppings. Although HisSec 358 mesh features in the standard-issue product, those buying RDS can approve the appropriate type of mesh that best fits their requirements.

Innovative fencing solutions you can trust

At Zaun, we develop, make, and fit government-approved fences that enable us to offer our clients full service and expert advice. So get in touch with us today to put a stronger security solution in place swiftly.

The European Championships have been considered hugely successful despite being held a year later than expected, and a major aspect of this is based on the event’s security. Held across several grounds, all with comprehensive security measures, businesses can take a lot of advice from their example. Read on to find out what security measures are in place and how they can keep you and your crowds protected.

Wide perimeters

All of the stadiums in the competition had one thing in common. The amount of land they take up, including their security measures, is vast. The reason for this is relatively simple; a large stadium footprint makes it difficult for someone breaking in to evade security forces for long. There’s too far for them to travel before getting caught to do any harm, so anyone that does try to jump a barrier will be in for a surprise when they have a 100m sprint to try and get anywhere. From the Wembley complex to Baku Olympic stadium, these colossi are built on similarly sprawling ground.

Effective fencing

To keep wrongdoers out of these areas, you’ll need highly effective fencing, which can be found at the vast majority of the stadia involved in EURO 2020. Whether close to the stadium or based on a huge perimeter, bespoke fencing is designed to be impenetrable for anyone with bad intentions. This includes features crafted around the shape of advanced turnstiles and security posts, allowing all aspects of event security to work in tandem. A good fence can bring all aspects of your security together into one cohesive location.

Manual checks

Security isn’t complete without guards completing checks. After all, no fence is perfect, and no perimeter can be entirely secure. By manually checking that no bags are too big and any that are get checked and put to one side before any harm is done, security guards can enforce all of the required rules and make sure anyone entering legally does so in a safe manner.

If you’re interested in using security fencing to protect your sports event, get in touch with ZAUN today and see how we can protect your property.

Music festivals are so often the highlight of British summers. Come rain or shine, gathering with friends and strangers in fields up and down the country to take in first-class live music is something that thousands enjoy and will hopefully be looking forward to the return of next year.

Of course, certain things are staples at music festivals. For example, packing wellies in case the skies open and the muddiness begins essentially. Being tempted by the food and craft stands is another. And, there will always be parts of the festival site lined with high-security temporary fences.

Whether you are a festival organiser or perhaps just curious about the ins and outs of UK major events, here you will find some of how temporary fencing plays a key part at music festivals.

Queue safety and organisation

Entering a festival site for the first time is always full of excitement, and guests are often anxious to get in. The reality is that security and ticket checks need to occur first, though, often creating queues. Managing these in an orderly and safe fashion is a must and made possible via temporary fencing that guides the layout of the queue. In addition, high-security railings can often be easily moved around to fit the needed situation.

Fencing off VIP and backstage areas

At major festivals, high security is often imperative to keep the safety, privacy and wellbeing of artists in check. However, despite the huge scale of some music festivals, private spaces for talent tend to be few and far between. These spaces can be made around stages using temporary fencing to create convenient hubs for relaxing artists and private walkways between stages.

Creating spaces for festival staff

Staff at all levels are key to the smooth running of a successful festival. Everyone must be in sync to ensure a well-run event, from those on the security gates to the media team and caterers. Railings can help make an area designated for staff, where they can take breaks, hold team meetings, and use it as a base for the festival’s duration.

While mesh fencing may be one of the most basic forms of fencing, it also has some of the most diverse uses, being suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. These uses range from industrial to residential and tends to be considered a very durable and reliable choice. Mesh fencing can be manufactured and designed for specific purposes and at specific sizes, meaning it is expertly designed to meet architectural requirements. Here we discuss some of the best uses for mesh fencing:

1. Security

Mesh fencing is commonly used as a perimeter wall or security fence. It can offer security purposes to residential, industrial or commercial properties. Mesh is also a popular choice for securing homes, however, this is often combined with a form of fencing that is generally considered more aesthetic. For increased security, some people choose a type of mesh fencing that prevents finger holds or tools being able to cut through, due to the extremely small openings.

2. Public Parks

As mesh fences can be installed in various different colours, some people enjoy the look of it in their local parks. For those who are passionate about plants, a mesh fence is a good alternative to wires for plants that climb, as they can easily take the weight without having to be regularly repaired, unlike the alternative.

3. Animals

Mesh fencing is a popular choice for fencing in animals, no matter what they are. As it’s possible to purchase the fence with different sizes of holes, it can accommodate any form or size of the animal. Some of the most common options are horse fencing, rabbit fencing and chicken coops. It is also an extremely safe option for animals, due to the lack of sharp edges.

4. Highways and railways

One of the main industrial uses of mesh fencing is on highways and railways for security purposes. They are extremely beneficial for preventing damage of the tracks, and also to prohibit animals from crossing over dangerous areas.

Security fencing, such as perimeter fencing and mesh fencing, is not just used in communities and schools. Many of the world’s major sporting and political events use fencing to protect both those inside and outside. To learn more about the fencing that has been used at huge global events, continue reading.

Olympic Games

Olympic Stadiums throughout the years have relied on high-security fencing to ensure that only those with authorised access can get in. At the London 2012 Olympics, speciality fences and gates were designed and installed around the 17km perimeter of the site. The fence was 5m high, with 7m lighting and CCTV columns positioned every 25m. High-security fencing is an essential part of any large stadium as safety is a priority at any large-scale event. It keeps those inside the stadium safe and avoids anyone without a ticket getting in.

World Cup

Whenever the football World Cup occurs every 4 years, stadiums are always prepared with the very best high-security fencing. The FIFA 2014 World Cup was no different. This is because, with any major sporting events, there is always a high risk of security threats. This can include hooliganism, small crimes and even terrorism. Each team that comes to the stadium must be protected and training grounds must be surrounded by fencing that is at least 2m high. Cladding must also be in place to prevent spying or climbing.

NATO summit

The NATO summit is an important political meeting that happens every year. The nature of this event means that security is key. During the 2014 NATO summit in Cardiff, temporary high-security fencing was installed at Newport’s Celtic Manor. This meant that world leaders were protected from any external threats. 13km high fencing was used across key sites in the city to ensure the safety of delegates. Once the event was over, the fencing was dismantled in less than a week.

Zaun has experience with providing fencing for major events, having installed perimeter fencing at the London Olympic Stadium in 2012 and at the NATO summit in 2014. We also provide perimeter and high-security fencing for a range of other purposes, including schools, outdoor pitches and zoos. To learn more about services, get in touch today.

Temporary fencing is beneficial for securing events. It can be set up quickly and easily before the event begins and dismantled as soon as it’s over. However, you may be wondering what type of temporary fencing is best. You have two major options to choose from mesh fencing (which is made from metal wire) or hoarding (which is usually made from timber or similar material). Each option is suitable for different types of events. To decide which one is right for your event, you need to consider four important factors, which we’ll discuss in today’s blog entry.

1. Resilience

Temporary fencing made from wire mesh is generally more durable and resilient than timber hoarding. Hoarding can be effective at keeping people out who might otherwise wander in to your event accidentally. It can also deter petty criminals and casual intruders. However, if you have reason to believe that organised, professional criminals will try to break into your event, you’re better off with mesh fencing. Timber can be broken down by determined criminals, but wire mesh will stand up to most attacks.

2. Weight

Most types of hoarding are somewhat lighter than wire mesh temporary fencing. This makes them easier to transport, carry and set up. It also makes it easier to take down after your event is over. Therefore, if you need to set up and dismantle your temporary fencing as quickly as possible, hoarding is often a better option than mesh fencing. However, if you have ample time to set up and dismantle your perimeter, it may be worth using mesh fencing instead.

3. Effect on light levels

Mesh fencing lets light through, whereas hoarding casts a significant shadow. This is because hoarding is made from solid materials, whereas mesh fencing is made from individual strands of wire with spaces between them. If your event takes place in a large, open area, you don’t have to worry about the shadows cast by solid sheets. They won’t be sufficient to make your event site noticeably darker and will only affect the area of the site around your perimeter. However, if your event takes place in a smaller, less open space, you should opt for mesh fencing. After all, you’ll need to let in as much light as possible.

4. Cost

Hoarding is less expensive than temporary fencing. If you’re trying to save money, it’s the most affordable option. However, if your event has a larger budget, it’s often worth renting mesh fencing instead.

Whether you choose mesh fencing or hoarding, we at Zaun can meet your needs. In addition to permanent security fencing, we also offer temporary perimeter fencing and hoarding. Check out our range of products today.

When you need to put protection in place fast without compromising security, Rapid Deploy System (RDS) fencing is ideal. The RDS temporary security fencing range can be fitted and installed without digging or pinning.

What are the numerous advantages organisations can enjoy when they choose this innovative solution?

A multi-purpose system

RDS fencing is an ideal temporary security measure suited to a diverse range of applications. Whether you need to erect a barrier to keep back crowds at a sporting event or rally or shield areas from unwanted visitors or trespassers to a construction site, RDS offers strong support.

Enhanced agility

RDS fences offer organisations flexibility. We have designed these fences for straightforward, rapid deployment when necessary allowing onsite security to react fast and establish new defences swiftly and smoothly while causing minimal disruption.

Comprehensive onsite security

The RDS range has been independently tested against mob attacks and repels crowd strikes. An optional PAS 68 enhancement is also available to provide hostile vehicle mitigation to the fencing, gates and access portals.

Cost-effective

This PAS 68 rated fencing’s impressive protection levels can allow business users to cut costs. In addition, it dramatically reduces the need for additional security teams and policing, often required by conventional temporary barriers.

Convenient to customise

Fully customisable, RDS works well with a wide range of security enhancements like fence toppings, perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDs) and Closed-circuit Television (CCTV) cameras. Matching security gates can also be added in the same style as the RDS, offering the same formidable protection levels. While HisSec 358 is used as standard, purchasers can select the mesh used in RDS fencing to suit their needs.

Specialists in high-security fencing

Developing and manufacturing government-approved security solutions at Zaun, we can advise on all your onsite needs. Contact our specialist team to discuss the fastest way to establish robust measures at your event or enterprise premises now.

One of the most hotly anticipated summer sporting events is the Wimbledon tennis championship. This is not only a big deal in the UK but for millions of tennis fans around the world too. With Wimbledon 2021 starting at the end of June, we do not have much longer to wait. Of course, being a major professional sporting event, security will be high when the action begins.

While this is common knowledge, it might be a surprise to hear you can take some aspects of Wimbledon security into your own courts. If you run a private tennis club, are responsible for courts at a private gym or look after public tennis courts, this is worth thinking about.

But what tips are the most useful to borrow?

Top-class security fencing

Although the courts at Wimbledon might not have perimeter fencing or railings around them directly, it is a feature you will see around the perimeter of the All England Club. This makes sense as it allows the organisers to stop intruders wandering onto the site who should not be there. It also makes the site perimeter hard to breach and protects people inside. Using security fencing to protect players and visitors whilst also securing your perimeter is something you can use for your grounds as well.

It is, of course, also possible to erect specialist sports fencing for tennis around your own courts. This provides the court with two features, a secure court to stop any unauthorised visitors or vandals and perimeter sports fencing for ball retention.

Restricted entry

Whether it is players, employees or fans, the organisers of Wimbledon don’t just let anyone gain entry. They will have strict processes in place to ensure only authorised people are allowed to enter. This not only keeps the players and crowds safe from dangerous individuals but also stops anyone from tampering with facilities inside the All England Club. Enforcing a robust visitor policy is certainly something you can take into your own club or courts to keep everyone safer and ensure that you know who is on the site each time.

There are other options, including using the ASSA Abloy Cliq system to give the site owners complete control over the access to the locks, without the need for multiple different keys. A key can be programmed to provide players with access to the court at a set time frame, providing you with a full log of who has accessed the court and at what time.

An integrated approach

One handy tip that Wimbledon 2021 organisers will use is taking an integrated approach to security. This basically means they will use multiple systems which work together to keep everyone safe. They may, for example, have security fencing in place, plus CCTV and hostile vehicle mitigation. This gives them more coverage and leaves them better prepared to pick up on or deal with any suspicious activity. Once more, this integrated approach works just as well for other tennis clubs or leisure facilities.

At Wimbledon 2021, organisers will be deploying temporary HVM measures to protect crowds and pedestrians from a potential hostile vehicle attack. This kind of security is a must for any major event to protect spectators and visitors.

Contact Zaun for help with the above.

As per the organisers of the Wimbledon tennis championship 2021, it really does pay to keep your own courts better protected with measures like this. At Zaun, we have a range of great value security fencing, metal railings and integrated security solutions to consider. Get in touch at sales@zaun.co.uk today for more details.
