{"id":1280,"date":"2014-07-18T15:39:33","date_gmt":"2014-07-18T14:39:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/?post_type=casestudies&#038;p=1280"},"modified":"2022-01-06T15:44:52","modified_gmt":"2022-01-06T15:44:52","slug":"olympic-legacy-fencing","status":"publish","type":"casestudies","link":"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/casestudies\/olympic-legacy-fencing\/","title":{"rendered":"Legacy project boasts fencing first"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: rgb(20.000000%, 72.000000%, 44.800000%);\">The Challenge <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">London 2012 organisers always planned, as part of their Olympic legacy, to transform the Athletes\u2019 Village into a purpose-built education and leisure campus with a specialism in performing arts comprising a nursery, primary and secondary school, sixth form and adult learning. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>While the main base for organising and managing teams from the record 206 nations that took part would readily convert to their new educational purpose, they needed a fencing solution to reduce the impact of noise from the Tube line that runs alongside.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: rgb(20.000000%, 72.000000%, 44.800000%);\">The Solution <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Contractor Osborne, Academy architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, and Lend Lease Group, responsible for the design, development and <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/construction-site-fencing\/\"  title=\"construction\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">construction<\/a> of East Village, chose Zaun\u2019s DBS acoustic fencing for the job.<\/p>\n<p><a data-wpil=\"url\" data-wpil=\"url\" data-wpil=\"url\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/\">Zaun<\/a> used mixed recycled waste plastics to develop the DBS panels that can deflect noise, soak up flying fragments, and be incorporated onto Zaun\u2019s extensive range of fencing post and panel systems to tailor specifiers solutions to their precise needs.<\/p>\n<p>The panels are easy to erect and suffer shallow repair needs, significantly reducing the whole life cost of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/casestudies\/wimbledon-removable-fencing-system\/\" title=\"Wimbledon Removable Fencing System\">fencing system<\/a>. In addition, the panels\u2019 impressive acoustic-loss properties have been rated B3 with a 36dB loss under BS EN 1793-2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/school-fencing\/school-perimeter-fencing\/\">Chobham Academy<\/a>, which incorporates the Beth Tweddle Academy for gymnasts, has been dubbed \u2018the school with an Olympic playground\u2019, with swimming lessons in the aquatics centre and sports days in the Olympic Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>It sits on the edge of the new East Village neighbourhood with 2,818 new homes, community <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/blog\/fencing-for-mental-health-facilities\/\" title=\"Why fencing for mental health facilities matters\">health facilities<\/a> and over 10 hectares of public leisure space.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":2173,"template":"","categories":[690,1571,676],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1280","casestudies","type-casestudies","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-high-security","category-security","category-temporary-events"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.7 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Olympic Legacy Fencing - Fencing First | Case Study | Zaun Ltd<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Olympic Legacy Fencing - Legacy project boasts fencing first.
