{"id":3668,"date":"2015-03-20T10:50:26","date_gmt":"2015-03-20T10:50:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/?p=3668"},"modified":"2022-01-06T15:39:14","modified_gmt":"2022-01-06T15:39:14","slug":"the-pitch-wolverhampton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/the-pitch-wolverhampton\/","title":{"rendered":"Zaun judges &#8216;The Pitch&#8217; at Wolverhampton University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Zaun has today been asked to be a part of the judging panel for The Pitch 2015,&nbsp;which is back at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlv.ac.uk\/\">Wolverhampton University<\/a> today after the success of the 2014 event.<\/p>\n<p>The Pitch is a residential business challenge programme where teams of Year 10 and 11 students come up with creative solutions to real-life challenges set by well-known local businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Students will work in teams of five during the event to come up with a creative solution to a real-life business challenge with support from a university graduate mentor.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the two days, students will &#8216;pitch&#8217; their idea to representatives from business. The businesses will judge ideas presented by each student <a data-wpil=\"url\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/mat-white\/\" title=\"Zaun excited to announce newcomer to the team\">team against the original brief and announce<\/a> a winner.<\/p>\n<p><a data-wpil=\"url\" data-wpil=\"url\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/\">Zaun&#8217;s<\/a> judge, Marketing Manager Steve Roberts, said: &#8216;As an ex-Wolverhampton University student myself, it is great to see the university commit to helping students gain valuable experience in everyday work problems, and to give students a springboard to network with local companies and help with their own professional development.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/university-sports-fencing\/\" title=\"\u00a31m floodlit artificial pitch for Nottingham Trent University\">university will equip students to take part in The Pitch<\/a> by offering three workshops on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leadership and team-building skills<\/li>\n<li>Marketing and how to create the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/pitch-fencing\/\" title=\"The perfect pitch\">perfect pitch<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Creative thinking and idea generation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Pitch is a great way to involve and prepare students for work skills by providing them with real-life scenarios to help them gain experience when looking for work.<\/p>\n<p>The Pitch is designed to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Encourage teamwork among students<\/li>\n<li>Equip students with entrepreneurial skills to develop creative ideas for real business problems<\/li>\n<li>Inspire and equip pupils with the knowledge, entrepreneurial skills and attitude which will help them to compete with confidence in a real business arena<\/li>\n<li>Meet and learn from peers from other <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/school-fencing\/\"  title=\"schools\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">schools<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An overall winner will be decided and invited to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/blog\/business-awards\/\" title=\"Tonight we learn how good our business is\">Business Awards<\/a> which will be held later in 2015.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zaun has today been asked to be a part of the judging panel for The Pitch 2015,&nbsp;which is back at Wolverhampton University today after the success of the 2014 event.
