An Essex junior football club is enjoying a brand new artificial grass pitch (AGP) thanks to a \u00a3100,000 grant from The Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund.<\/p>\n

Writtle Minors FC near Chelmsford bagged 67 grants totalling \u00a35.8m to develop grassroots football facilities.<\/p>\n

The AGP was installed by Limonta Smith JV Ltd, a joint venture formed by Smith Construction<\/a> (Heckington) Ltd and turf manufacturers Limonta Sport, a FIFA preferred producer, which has been appointed to a Football Foundation, Football Association, Rugby Football Union, England Hockey and Sport England framework for the second time.<\/p>\n

The framework agreement ensures that the country\u2019s artificial grass pitches (AGPs) are consistent quality and price.<\/p>\n

Limonta Smith JV won the \u00a3135,000 project to provide Writtle Minors FC with a state-of-the-art all-weather pitch, with the old tarmac play area removed and replaced with a 37m x 30m Limonta Infinity 55 carpet.<\/p>\n

Dawn Fencing Limited of Leigh installed\u00a0Duo8 Super Rebound<\/a> sports fencing and gates from Zaun, while\u00a0easy lift goals, bins and corner flags gave the pitch a polished professional finish.<\/p>\n

Zaun fencing was also employed just down the road at a new artificial sports pitch<\/a>, and air dome at Great Baddow High School opened by stars from Premiership football team West Ham United.<\/p>\n

Then Hammers manager Sam Allardyce, debutant Reece Burke and vice-captain and longest-serving current player Mark Noble opened The Dome, made possible by funding from Sport England\u2019s Inspired Facilities scheme, which funds the renovation and modernisation of grassroots sports facilities<\/a>.<\/p>\n
