{"id":7133,"date":"2017-10-03T10:29:43","date_gmt":"2017-10-03T09:29:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/?p=7133"},"modified":"2021-10-22T16:03:42","modified_gmt":"2021-10-22T15:03:42","slug":"facial-recognition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/facial-recognition\/","title":{"rendered":"Police thumbs-up for facial recognition security at London business centres"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Metropolitan Police have praised the quality of CCTV used by a series of London business centres in the quest to hunt down and prosecute petty criminals.<\/p>\n<p>Police in Kingston-upon-Thames was impressed by the full resolution recording and remote monitoring achieved by Unit Management Ltd, the managing agent for a dozen business centres, along with the A3 heading out of London.<\/p>\n<p>Facilities manager Alex Brewer said: \u201cKingston police were really impressed with our high-res imagery that is sharp enough even at night for full facial recognition, that has led to arresting and prosecuting would-be thieves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/remote-monitored\/\" title=\"Remote Monitored Water Utility Site with EyeLynx\">monitored an incursion of gipsies at our New Malden site<\/a> while we were down in Devon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Unit Management has been working with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/\">Zaun<\/a> owned security software expert EyeLynx Ltd for the past five years and is in the process of upgrading all its sites with EyeLynx\u2019s iconic SharpView CCTV solutions.<\/p>\n<p>EyeLynx co-founder Jay Patel said: \u201cUnit Management has successfully implemented many of the features of SharpView, including video analytics, PIR alarms and the use of radar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Police recently made arrests from the camera footage when an intruder broke through the perimeter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/sectors\/tennis-court-fences\/\" title=\"Tennis Court Fences\">fence at Trident Court<\/a> in Chessington, where EyeLynx\u2019s EPR-500 radar is also used.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re able to track people on foot and identify people breaking in through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/blog\/perimeter-fencing-for-data-centre-security\/\" title=\"Why use perimeter fencing for data centres?\">perimeter fence<\/a> \u2013 and even watch people dodging between cars and buildings \u2013 all remotely,\u201d said Mr Brewer.<\/p>\n<p>The latest two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/blog\/installing-bike-lockers\/\" title=\"3 ways installing bike lockers will improve your business\">installations are at Eurolink in Brixton and Kingspark Business<\/a> Centre, New Malden. At the same time, Mr Brewer is about to commission enhancements to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/blog\/security-for-data-centres\/\" title=\"Why security for data centres shouldn&#8217;t be undermined\">security at Battersea Business Centre<\/a>, Lavender Hill.<\/p>\n<p>The radar can help detect security threats early then use the software to control <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zaun.co.uk\/cctv-analytics\/\" title=\"Zaun buys CCTV expert\">CCTV<\/a> autonomously and zoom in to collect evidence and send to manned patrols or security control rooms.<\/p>\n<p>It can serve as a high-performance very-low-cost early warning of potential threats on large sites, with minimal maintenance and no user intervention once fitted.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Brewer concluded: \u201cThe EyeLynx system records at full resolution, so images are razor sharp and not the grainy and dark images most people associate with CCTV recordings when you\u2019re not alive to monitor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, with night-vision technology and the advent of widespread superfast broadband, we can monitor from anywhere and pull off recordings to suit.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Metropolitan Police have praised the quality of CCTV used by a series of London business centres in the quest to hunt down and prosecute petty criminals.
